The Importance of Making a Camping Checklist

It is always ideal to have a camping checklist, so that you know what your necessities may be and be sure that you do not forget anything when you get out on a trip. This is particularly true for camping trips, and so every time you set out for camping in the future you ought to make sure that you have a proper camping checklist. One persons check list will be different from other persons. I find my check list grows every time I go camping; I am always adding and removing things.

So every time you go camping you should make sure that you have a camping checklist ready.

Making the List

Although one person’s camping checklist is most certainly going to vary from another, the basics still tend to remain the same. Of course you will need your: Tent, Travel trailer, or all these could be replaced by a RV if you have one.

Food

Then the food should be put on the camping checklist, and of course you are going to want to include food that you and the others are going to enjoy. If you are planning on eating out during your camping trip then obviously food will not really have to be included, although you may want to bring a few snacks along anyway.

Bedding

For bedding you are going to want to have a sleeping bag, sheets and blankets, pillows, an air mattress and pump if necessary, repair kit for the air mattress, and utility bags for storage.

Accessories

For those who are going to be roughing it and want to cook their own food, you will need a large water jug and water bucket, coolers and ice, a thermos, stove with fuel or propane, matches or a lighter, fire starters such as newspaper, measuring cups, aluminum foil, paper towels, trash bags, dish soap, clothes pins, cooking oil, and some containers for food storage which are particularly useful for leftovers.

Personal

Also on the camping checklist you will want to include your personal items such as towels, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, razor, feminine products, toilet paper, brush, and medications. Sunscreen, lanterns, batteries, a compass, water filters, binoculars, pocket knife, plastic grocery bags, bungi cords, cards, duct tape, notepads, pens, pencils, candles, maps, even a camera, all of these are great miscellaneous items to add on to your list.

Preparation

Is truly essential for any outdoor adventure and having the necessary supplies and equipment is going to make a huge difference in your next camping experience. Having a camping checklist will allow you to fully enjoy yourself without having to worry that you forgot something and this is especially important if you are going to have little ones going on the trip with you.
